SSC CGL Tier 1 Exam Pattern 2015:
SSC CGL Exam consists four sections in a single paper. Each section carry 50 marks and 50 questions. One mark for each right question answer and 0.25 negative marks to each wrong answer. Exam duration is 2 hours. Staff Selection Commission Conducts Combined Graduate Level (Exam) every year. This is one of biggest exam conducts in India. A huge number of candidates applied for this exam and appear in written test. But as per SSC notification, SSC will conducts all exams via online mode or computer based test. General Awareness – This section will consist the General Knowledge related questions related to Past, Present and Future topics and History. Questions in this component will be aimed at testing the candidate’s general awareness of the environment around him and its application to society. Questions will also be designed to test knowledge of current events and of such matters of everyday observation and experience in their scientific aspects as may be expected of an educated person. The test will also include questions relating to India and its neighbouring countries especially pertaining to History, Culture, Sports, Geography, economic scene, General polity, Indian Constitution, and scientific research etc. These questions will be such that do not require a special study of any discipline.
General Intelligence and Reasoning Ability – This paper will includes the questions of both verbal and nonverbal type. This component include questions on Coding and decoding, statement conclusion, analogies, similarities, differences, judgement, decision making, visual memory, discrimination, observation, spatial visualization, spatial orientation, problem solving analysis,syllogistic reasoning, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning, verbal and figure classification arithmetical number series, nonverbal series, etc..
General English – This sections includes and testing of candidates understanding of the English language and its correct usage, his writing ability and comprehension would also be tested. Questions on paragraph writing/report writing etc. may be included.
Arithmetic – This paper parts will include questions on problems relating to number systems, time and distance, ratio and time, computation of whole numbers, decimals and fractions, ratio and proportion, averages, interest, profit and loss, relationships between numbers, fundamental arithmetical operations, percentage, discount, use of tables and graphs, mensuration,etc.
